Our Annual Meeting

FIRST10FORWARD’S ANNUAL MEETING

 

Each year, First10Forward holds its Annual Meeting.  Members gather to listen to fellow Members pitch Eligible Charitable Organizations they believe should win First10Forward’s Annual Grant.   Then, all Members vote on which Eligible Charitable Organization will receive the Annual Grant.

 

The First10Forward Annual Meeting is held at a different resort each year. In addition to pursuing First10Forward’s mission, we have a blast.

2024 First10Forward Annual Meeting

 

Our 2024 Annual Meeting is at East Wind Resort, Wading River, NY Sep 7-10, 2024! 

Day One – Saturday, September 7, 2024 (times may change to slightly later if we can arrange to give people more time if going to Kings Point homecoming beforehand).  It takes approximately 1 ¼ hours of travel time from the academy depending on traffic.

 

  • Check-in is available starting at 4:00 pm

 

 

Day Two – Sunday, September 8, 2024

  • Spa day (2 spa services for each person) with lunch

  • There are many activities available to plan with smaller groups.  We will provide more information prior to the event.

  • Enjoy a champagne welcome in a private room with hors d’oeuvres from 6:00-7:00 pm.

  • Join us for a welcome dinner from 7:00-10:00 pm with a 3-hour open bar at Desmond’s Restaurant.

 

Day Three – Monday, September 9, 2024

  • Continental breakfast from 8:00-9:00 am

  • Annual meeting from 9:00-11:00 am

  • Vineyard tour with charcuterie board at East Wind Vineyard from 12:00-2:00 pm

  • Dinner and open bar at Ruggero’s Restaurant from 6:00-10:00 pm

 

This is a fixed price per person based on double occupancy room and all these activities included.  The price is $1,245.00/person.  We already have rooms blocked off for us so you will NOT be calling the resort to make reservations.  Please contact either Peg Martino KP’86 (1-516-384-4753) or Margaret Doyle KP’85 (1-508-889-7747) or email the First10Forward email address (first10forward@gmail.com) to let us know you will be joining us and with whom you will be rooming.  A $500 non-refundable deposit is required prior to August 1, 2024 to hold your space.  A deposit is necessary to lock the reservation.  If you don’t have a roommate, we will help arrange this when the time gets closer.

Our most recent Annual Meeting was held at Samoset Resort, Rockland, ME from July 8-11, 2023.

Our 2022 Annual Meeting was held July 9-12, 2022 at The Homestead Resort, Glen Arbor, Michigan. The Homestead Resort is “A Distinctive Lakeside Four Season Resort on Lake Michigan”. The Homestead is a beachfront resort offering a wide range of unique lodging choices.

 

 

It is located on the beach chosen by Money Magazine as “No. 1 of the 8 Best Beaches to Visit this Summer” and is surrounded by the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore which was chosen by the viewers of ABC’s Good Morning America as the “Most Beautiful Place in America”.

Our July 2021 Annual Meeting occurred at Silverado Resort in beautiful Napa, CA.

The July 2019 Annual Meeting was a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Majesty Of The Seas to Key West and The Bahamas July 13 through July 17, 2019.

The July 2018 Annual Meeting took place at 

Keystone Lodge and Spa, Keystone, CO.

The First Annual Meeting (July 2017) took place at the Buccaneer Resort and Hotel on St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

In St. Croix, we played golf, did yoga, and went snorkeling in an underwater national park.  We ate, drank and laughed.   We reconnected with class mates from decades ago and made friends with women we hardly knew at Kings Point.  We left rested, relaxed and committed to our network and its mission of helping other girls and women achieve their goals.

 

 

All Eligible Women graduates of the USMMA are encouraged to join!
